Mimi Whitmarsh

Mimi’s family has lived in Little Compton for three generations, and her love for the town runs deep. As a child, her father owned Shethar Real Estate, and the passion for the business is in her blood. Leaving the area long enough to earn degrees in art history and textile design at the University of Vermont, she returned to Little Compton and began managing Provender, a specialty foods store in Tiverton. Mimi started a floral design and event planning business in 1990 called Hollyhocks & Jabberwocks, which allowed her to work from home while raising two daughters. Her interest in real estate, as well as in the local history, prompted her to also get her agent’s license in 2005 and join Little Compton Real Estate. Then when the girls left for college, Mimi’s love for sailing led her to off-shore racing, which developed into a new career in crew logistics and as private yacht chef. Almost ten years later, she is back home and enjoying the real estate business once again. Between her knowledge of the area, and her love of people, helping clients find just what they are looking for is her mission. While proficient with today’s online marketing and negotiating capabilities, Mimi still believes in establishing face-to-face familiar relationships with her clients, and takes pride in seeing them comfortably through each phase of a transaction. Her long-standing rapport with associates in all facets of the industry is invaluable when it comes to aspects of a sale such as listings, inspections, closings, relocations, and more. While confidently aiding a client in navigating the transaction process, Mimi holds the age-old values of honesty, respect, integrity, and commitment to be paramount in a business relationship.
